Put those mediocre B-minus essays on the trash pile and level up to A-plus quality. Hopefully, with a little bit of guidance, you can successfully transition from a good writer, to a fantastic one. So put a bit of thinking into your projects, work a little harder, and don’t be afraid to try a few new strategies to turn your essay into a piece that will impress your teacher.
Going by the definition, a descriptive essay is supposed to be a paper that you do not have to spend so much time on. The reason for this is because it generally is a paper where you are expected to provide your own description of something, a person, an event or any other thing that is the subject of the paper. It is an easy paper to write because it is your account of events that matters, nothing more than that.
Given the task at hand, you need to be well prepared to work on this paper, so that by the time you are sending it in for marking, you are sure to deliver something that your teachers will be happy about. The following guide will help you structure one of the best papers you have ever written so far.
Proper research is necessary for you to deliver a paper that will leave no stone unturned. Being a descriptive essay, you need to be articulate in the manner in which you provide descriptions of events, of issues or anything else that will make your paper complete. You should not have to worry about anything else as long as you have done some good work on the research into your paper.
Every other time when you are given such an assignment to work on, there will be specific instructions on what you are supposed to do, how you are supposed to present the paper and so forth. These kinds of instructions are normally supposed to guide your work, so that there is an element of uniformity when you present the paper.
A good student will follow these instructions to the latter, so that by the time you are through with the work, everything else checks out. An ignorant student on the other hand, will choose to ignore these instructions, and do what they think is right. That is how easy it is to pass or fail even the simplest of tasks in school.
If the task is that you write a 10,000 word essay, you have no business writing a 15,000 word essay to show your teachers that you have more content in your mind to present on paper. It is okay to use between 9,500 and 11,000 words, but nothing more or less than that.
